A The greater good.

It ended the way it began.
In a bottle
Easy come, easy go.
Words stumbling off of chapped lips
Dying in the january twilight
I saw the embers
Of carefully constructed maybes
Slip away.
Ash among the resting places bordering dreams and nothing.
Knew better than this.

A light in dark places has that effect. That opening line is a real grabber, then that ending. Something wonderful opened, just to be slammed shut. Very satisfying read. +tpu+

I was going to say something similar...concise, succinct. Sometimes I'm uncomfortable with how comfortable I am with things.

I really, really like this. Concise, succinct words to get absorbed by, lost within. A story waiting to fully unfurl in all its details. Brilliant gem of a piece.
