A Morning Cigarette

The smell of your morning cigarette so warm and so calming
Another layer of ash as my heart stops to await embalming

the simplicity lends itself to a softening of heart and soul and days on end..... such vignettes we capture silently. and speak of rarely.

I recently saw a painting of a guy smoking a cigarette and the cigarette was connected to a fuse in a time bomb down in the guys' heart. Which will be the one that pushes you over the edge and onto pushing up the daisies? Cigarette smoke in the morning makes me sick now lol. I like how you've guided my mind toward this scenario. It's love, death and taking chances all rolled into one tiny little poem. That is true skill, friend.
